Welcome to 'About Vicci'

I don’t know about you but I’m the kind of girl who, when searching for an addition to my ‘life team’, I want to know that the person will be on my side. Whether I’m looking for a dentist; a homeopath; a nutritionalist; a coach or a mentor, I like to be sure that the person I choose to come along side me and ‘get into my boat’ as so to speak is right for me. It doesn’t matter whether that person will be with me for a season, for a life time or just passing through, the dynamic has to work and I want to know that I won’t just be another number or an addition to their books, but rather a valued human being. Connection, compassion and understanding are high on my list of priorities. As you’re on this website, I think it’s safe to assume that you are looking for an addition to your ‘life team’, a coach to come alongside you. Maybe just for a short while until you find your way, and if I’m right in my assumption, I would encourage you to make sure the coach you choose is on the same page as you.

My Story...

I’m Vicci Phillips, Lifestyle Transition Coach; Fitness Professional; Owner and  Lead Coach at Grit + Grace, Wirral and Functional Wellness Practitioner specialising in Gut health, food sensitivities and Autoimmune Disease. Going back a few years, I was struggling with my weight, struggling with my health, struggling with my confidence and self esteem, basically struggling with life. In fact, if I’m being honest, I was merely existing. I had gained over 5 stone, which was more than half of my original weight, in a very short period of time.

The crazy thing was, as a trained fitness professional, I knew exactly what I had to do to get the weight off. I knew exactly what type of exercise to do, when I had to do it, how often I had to do it. I knew all about nutrition, I knew exactly what and what not to eat and yet, I could not shift the weight (or the feeling of hopelessness for that matter) I’d lose a few pounds then put double back on. I would be great for a week and then ‘blow’ it all.

Sound familiar?

Time passed and I continued to live in a body that I did not recognise and a mind that was occupied with the dominating thoughts of ‘fat’ and ‘I’ll start again on Monday’. I eventually did start to lose weight but the weight loss remained inconsistent, but worse than this, much worse than this, was the state of my mental and emotional health. I had always been very positive, dynamic and full of life and vigour, but these things, the core of me, seemed to have diminished into thin air. To the onlooker all was well (or at least I think), but on the inside I felt like I was dying. Mentally and emotionally I was nothing but a shell of my former self (a much larger shell).

I started reading a book that was nothing to do with weight loss, as a distraction technique, and all the time hating how uncomfortable I felt in that ‘fat’ body, when out of nowhere, staring right at me as though there were no other words on the page, was the key that would open the door to my freedom. It read, “It all comes down to this...If your subconscious… blueprint is not set for success, nothing you learn, nothing you know, and nothing you do will make much of a difference…” - T.Harv Eker

It was like a slap in the face from reality. I sat in silence for a while knowing that I had found something, although not realising at the time the journey this quote would take me on and the impact the journey was to have on my life and the lives of so many others.  That was the day that the direction of my entire life, my future changed forever. And so it began, my pathway to freedom.

AND THE MOST AMAZING AND LIBERATING REALITY IS…

THE DIRECTION OF YOUR LIFE, YOUR FUTURE, YOUR HEALTH CAN CHANGE TOO… IT’S YOURS FOR THE TAKING!

I have since dedicated over 23 years on education and research and in doing so, I have been privileged to have learned from, and continue to learn from world class coaches, doctors & mentors, the best of the very best, resulting in my own unrecognisable transformation.

My Approach...

The core of my approach to helping you is not about this diet or that diet, trying this new trend or that new fad. In fact, these behaviours are the very things that will keep you trapped in the yo-yo dieting cycle. Both my Fitness & Wellness Coaching bring with them a whole new dimension, incorporating skills and experience as a Transformation Life Coach. My approach is very much based on connection and calibration, meeting you exactly where you are and taking the time and skill to identify any potential physical and psychological barriers which could otherwise keep you ‘stuck’. It is my unwavering belief that you are already perfectly perfect. When working together, it’s not about trying to ‘change’ you or ‘fix’ you, as can so often be the mistaken understanding, but more so about helping you to discover (or re-discover) and uncover the amazing strong Woman you are, a Woman that CAN achieve the fit and healthy body you wish to live in, which can so often be clouded by our thinking

Vicci - The Nitty Gritty...
(In the words of my friend)

Vicci is a 50 year old peri-menopausal Grandma!   YEP...SHE'S OWNING THAT TITLE with a huge smile on her face.

From an educational perspective: - She has a degree in Dance Studies; a post graduate degree in Physical Education; Part Masters in Humanitarian Studies.  She is an accredited Life Coach and an accredited Functional Wellness practitioner specialising in Gut Health and Autoimmune disease. She is a qualified Fitness Professional and is currently in her second year at University studying Homeopathic Medicine.  She was very convicted in telling me, "I'll never stop learning".

She's a Christian girl with a big heart and a tenacious determined attitude.  Human connection and helping each other are high up in her core values.  You'll often find her singing her head off (despite the fact that singing really is not in her giftings)

She has a daughter called Jasmine and a 2 year old Grandson called Hugo.  They are both the joy of her life.  When her daughter, Jasmine was 10 years old, she took her out of school and they road-tripped Australia together for 3 months.  In preparation for the trip, Vicci spent 12 weeks prior training both physically and mentally for the trip.

She says that one day she wants to live in a little hut on the beach and wear boardshorts and flip flops every day!
